Heat Pump Lab consent form for households with Vaillant heat pumps

About you

We need your email to get in touch about your participation in this project. It will not be used for any other purposes.

We will only use this to contact you if necessary about the project, for example to text with updates about device delivery or to call to troubleshoot any problems with the MiniMeter.

How to find your gateway serial number

Open the myVaillant app, then go to Status, Gateway, SN. You can copy the long number after "SN" using the copy to clipboard option.

Address *

Search for your postcode, then choose your address from the list. We need your address to check whether we can retrieve smart meter data from your home and, if you are selected for the study, to post you a MiniMeter device. If you are not selected, your address and other personal details will be securely deleted.

Consent *
  • I have a Vaillant heat pump.
  • I have a smart meter.
  • I wish to be considered for this project involving placing a MiniMeter device in my home as described in the information sheet.
  • I consent to UCL doing a check to see if my heat pump data and smart meter data are correctly retrievable from my address.
  • If selected, I agree to plug in the device that will be sent to me in my home and understand that it will continuously collect and securely send to the research team my electricity data and temperature and humidity data at a resolution of up to every 10 seconds.
  • If selected, I consent to UCL collecting and storing data retrieved from my heat pump over the internet.
  • I confirm that I am aged 18 or over and regularly live at this address.
  • I confirm that I have read and understood the Information Sheet.
  • I understand that my participation is voluntary and that I am free to withdraw my consent at any time, without needing to give a reason, using the contact details provided.
  • I understand that my personal information collected for this study will be used by approved researchers for the purposes of scientific research in the public interest, as explained in the Information Sheet. My name and address will always remain confidential and I will never be identified in any research results.
  • I understand that according to data protection legislation, public task will be the lawful basis for processing.
